

Nadira is a medical doctor with a Master’s in Health Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She is a senior health policy expert with over 25 years of experience across a wide range of public health areas, including health system strengthening, sexual and reproductive health and rights, family planning, maternal and child health, nutrition, TB, malaria, HIV/AIDS, health financing, quality of care, capacity building, climate change, and disability inclusion in healthcare. Nadira has experience working with multiple levels of stakeholders in both the public and NGO sectors, from policy development to on-the-ground implementation.
Nadira has leveraged her expertise by collaborating with several development partners in Bangladesh as a technical specialist, including Global Affairs Canada (GAC), FCDO, the Global Fund, USAID, and several UN agencies (WHO, UNOPS, UNFPA, UNICEF, and UNAIDS). She continues to serve in an advisory role to the WHO Southeast Asia Regional Office (SEARO) as a member of the Advisory Group for Tuberculosis.
Nadira is a member of the Canadian Association for Global Health (CAGH) and is engaged with the organization’s global MentorNet program as a member of the steering committee and a volunteer mentor supporting emerging professionals interested in global health. She is also a member of the Global Fund’s Bangladesh Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM) from the academia constituency.
Apart from Bangladesh, she has working experience in Afghanistan and Iran. In her personal life, Nadira is a book lover and often writes articles in different media outlets.
